Hi,

Some information. I'm trying to determine the number of data TLB using just cpuid on a Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 285K. I'm using Debian Trixie as my OS, but a generic Linux solution is fine for me too.

According to various searches on the internet, the Ultra 9 285K L2 TLB has 4192 entries, not sure how I find this out from the cpuid registers. I suspect I need to probe this per cpu since it's a split P/E core design.

cpuid registers dump in ASCII plain text is attached.

You might need to cross-reference with Intel’s official documentation and performance counters. You can Read more here for a detailed guide on calculating TLB entries on newer Intel processors.

Hi Colin-Ian-King,

Greetings from Intel Customer Support.

We would like to provide an update regarding your query about TLB entries for the Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285K processor.

Currently, we do not have publicly available TLB entry documentation for this processor model. However, you may retrieve the information directly by using the CPUID leaf enumeration method.

Please refer to the following details:

TLB information is available through:

CPUID.(EAX=0x18, ECX=subleaf)

Each subleaf describes one TLB structure.

Enumeration ends when:

EAX = 0

How to decode the registers:

EAX:

Indicates the TLB type and level.

EBX:

Indicates the number of TLB entries.

Example:

EBX = 0x40 → 64 entries

EBX = 0x600 → 1536 entries

We hope this information helps with your investigation. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Best regards,

Roy

Intel Customer Support Technician
