Intel i5 760 Quad Core BSOD Error

Good morning all. I am getting a BSOD stop error 0x101 "A clock interrupt was not received on secondary processor within the allocated time interval". I just purchaced this processor about two months ago and am confused as to why this is happening. Below are my computer specs.

ASUS P7P55D-E LX Motherboard

Nvidia GX460 video

8gb Corsair RAM

Windows 7 home premium 64bit

WD 320 gb HDD

Go into the BIOS and make your HD with the OS first in line in the Boot order. Than reboot and see if that cures the problem.

Wow, it seems to be working. I am supprised that such a simple switch would fix that issue. Do you have an explanation?

During Boot your BIOS looks at everything in the sys. HD DVD and anything else you have hooked up , This takes time If you have your OS Boot drive first in line for the BIOS to look at it just starts faster . So you don't get errors like a slow responding component.

Do your self a favor save your $$$ and get a SSD for the OS and it will start even faster.

From what I've read you are on your way to building a real nice SYS . BUT you have to get away from standard Hard drives , At least for the boot Drive , The Very best option is a Intel Solid State Drive 160 Gb is what I would recomend . It's large enough to hold the OS and Lots of programs , Than you get a 1 TB regular drive for storage. These things are so fast you would think that you had a 6 core with 24 GB arm. It's all about IOPS ,( in's and Outs. )

Take that WD320 and get a encloser and use it for back-ups.

On your WEI score whats it reading now ( 5.9 ) My Intel SSD is ( 7.7 ) . with a rotational drive will never get above 5.9 . Not even with TWO Raptors in RAID 1.

If you do get one stick with Intel , The read/writes are way under rated My 160GB SSD normaly runs 265 read 120 writes. OCZ and cousair are good SSDs But you can't use the Tool Box . Read up on before you jump on something cheap . Buying a cheaper drive ?? you will regreet.

I read a little about 41 power event , most people say it's caused by hardware. what else do you have hooked up besides the graphics card?? Because what ever it is it's not shutting down quick enough. IE a card reader thumb drive or something like that.???

I did a quick format on the HDD last night and a fresh install of the OS along with the motherboard tool CD install so thats where i stand now. Next will be the video card driver install when i get home tonight.

I have i5 760 processor and i am using 55 TC mother board with 4 GB RAM with 500 GB Hard Disk.In every morinng i have an arror in my pc Like physical memory error. The pc gets restart and and few restarts it works perfactly i dont knoew i have changed all hardware except cpu .Is it a cpu issue .Pleaswe help me i vary upset
