I read that Speed Shift was turned on with the latest release of Windows 10. Great.

But what if I am running Windows 8.1 ? Is Speed Shift turned on and how do I know ?

Thanks,

@

Hello Kayon,

Thank you for joining the Intel communities.

The Intel® Speed Shift is available for Windows 10 right now and not for Windows 8.

This only works with Windows 10 today as it requires some unique communication between the processor and OS. For older operating systems like Windows 8 or even other OS paths like Linux, Speed Shift won't work out of the box.

Intel teams up with Microsoft to bring Speed Shift technology to Windows 10.

Please see here:

http://microsoft-news.com/intel-teams-up-with-microsoft-to-bring-speed-shift-technology-to-windows-10/ http://microsoft-news.com/intel-teams-up-with-microsoft-to-bring-speed-shift-technology-to-windows-10/

Thanks,

Ivan
