Intel Rapid Storage problem

Hi everyone,

I have problem with Intel Rapid Storage Technology service.

I use Windows 11 Pro on Asus H110M-K with Intel i5 6500 and have error:

The Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).

With Event ID 7034 (in Windows Event Viewer)

In Microsoft Community tell me that i need to ask in Intel forum, can someone tell me why i have this error?

I check all components, all is ok, and my HDD and 2 SSD too is ok

Windows 11 is not supported on your processor.

And this is because i get this error? Maybe its not so serious error and can use with this error or this is something serius?

The simple fact is that you are not supported. Not by Microsoft for using W11 on an unsupported processor, and not by Intel for using a discontinued and unsupported processor.

Before I used Windows 11 on:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970-A3

CPU: AMD FX6200 ~3.8GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GTX760 2Gb

and 16Gb of RAM and this all is unsupported by Windows 11, but all works realy grate without any error

Spengler: It's hard to explain, but try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and finding yourself confined forever in another dimension.

Look, you are not supported. And, if you took your W11 build from the Gigabyte board with the AMD processor, and put it on the asus board with the intel proceessor, then that is B A D.

Get a a supported OS or supported system, do a fresh build of the OS, then come back.

Just out of curiosity, why do you have Intel RST installed? Are you actually using RAID or do you have an Optane Module/SSD installed? If not, you should uninstall Intel RST immediately; it is unnecessary and can add unnecessary issues/complications to your configuration.

@AlHill i like Windows 11 with those changes and this is only error i didnt understand, else is simple on alost every Windows maschines, what i get time to time.

I cant find Intel RST to unistall it, because i didnt have any module ssd drive, even try to find in Device Manager under Hidden Device Drivers

According to the RST documentation, "Press Windows + X keys. Select Device Manager. Find and expand the Disk drives catalog. Right-click Intel® Rapid Storage Technology and choose Uninstall device."

P.S. I want to ensure that you understand where Al is coming from. You had to hack Windows 11 in order to install it onto your older machine. That makes it unsupportable, by Intel and by Microsoft. When things go awry, no one at either company is going to set up such an environment to determine what is causing it to go awry, let alone look for a solution.

I install Windows 11 in recovery mode with download from Microsoft and there wasnt be any error or problem with missmatch.

There is problem, i cant fint it in Device Manager, i even reveal Hidden Drivers, there is no Intel RST, like its as if it wasnt on the computer at all

Nope, there is no RST on this computer, i cant find it

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

As the Super Users pointed out, the CPU (i5 6500) doesn't support Windows 11. So, Intel has not assessed what problems could be using that CPU in that operating system. Our suggestion remains to use an OS that's compatible and verify with the motherboard manufacturer if there's a Windows 11-compatible RST driver available.

Since it is required to check with the motherboard's original equipment manufacturer, we will proceed to close it. Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel. Thank you for your understanding.
