File System Filter 'iaStorAfs' Error

I'm getting hundreds of these warning in my event log:

"File System Filter 'iaStorAfs' (Version 10.0, ‎2017‎-‎03‎-‎17T09:32:40.000000000Z) failed to attach to volume '\Device\Harddisk9\DR9'. The filter returned a non-standard final status of 0xC000000D. This filter and/or its supporting applications should handle this condition. If this condition persists, contact the vendor."

Is this something to be concerned about?

Is it a bug with Windows and/or Intel RST?

I'm running the latest version of Intel RST downloaded from Intel's site: v15.5.0.1051

Have you installed a previous version? Is this the first time you see these warnings?

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" in the top right corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear in the bottom right corner of the response box.

I've been running previous versions of RST for several years and have never seen these warnings.

The version you currently have installed is designed to provide functionality for the following Storage Controllers:

- Intel(R) 200 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller

- Intel(R) 7th Generation Core Processor Family Platform I/O SATA AHCI/RAID Controller

- Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller

- Intel(R) 6th Generation Core Processor Family Platform I/O SATA AHCI/RAID Controller

This could be the main reason why these warnings are present in your log, so my recommendation is to uninstall this version, reboot your computer and then install the following version: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/IRST_V14_5_0_1081_WHQL.zip?_ga=2.186349089.929151621.1496257241-1591972974.1464359624 http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/IRST_V14_5_0_1081_WHQL.zip?_ga=2.186349089.929151621.1496257241-1591972974.14… which is the latest for your motherboard.

That wasn't a very satisfying answer!

I'm surprised that Intel wouldn't have their most recent version of RST SW support a chipset that is only 3 years old (Z97-9 Series)?

My functionality doesn't seem to be impacted. It is an annoying and voluminous warning that should be corrected if it's not providing any information.

elprice7345, my apologies for the inconvenient.

In this case Intel provides generic drivers for general purposes which they might work with your computer model, your computer manufacturer is in charge of providing all the proper drivers for your specific model. In your case the proper driver for the Rapid Storage controller is the one mentioned above.
