Hi, my kid is building a new "gaming" PC, and I am trying to convince him to get a motherboard that supports Intel RST so he can mirror his OS/data (for the obvious reasons). However, he's looking at a gen8 or gen9 motherboard, and the compatibility list (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005543/technologies.html) for RST doesn't list anything newer than 7 series chipsets. Am I reading something wrong or does it seem this product is being sunset??

In 9th series chipset , I found X99 chipset series is suitable , but not suitable for mirroring

you can see the comparison chart between chipset

https://ark.intel.com/compare/82012,82010,81761

in 8th series chipset , I found HM87 and QM87 suitable for mirroring because it supports 0/1/5/10

you can see the comparison chart between chipset

https://ark.intel.com/compare/75013,75007,75004,75010,75019,75016,75528,75525,75531

Thanks RA, yep, going through the individual spec docs I can see that some boards do have support...but you would think that "master' doc I listed would've been updated with 9th gen support...oh well!!
