Hello MvanL3,

Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.

It is recommended to do verify and repair when you observe inconsistencies in the drives. You can have more information in the link below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006401/technologies.html

I hope this helps.

David V

Intel Customer Support Technician

A Contingent Worker at Intel

Hello David,

Thank you for your reply.

How do I observe inconsistencies in the drives? Isn't this where 'verify and repair' is for?

Regards

Hello MvanL3,

Thank you for your response.

You could use it any time for checking if there is an issue; nevertheless, the Intel ® Rapid Storage Technology software should let you know if there is an issue with a drive or a degradation of the RAID prior doing the "verify and repair".

Still, you can use it and it will verify for errors and repair if needed, it would be up to your needs when or how often to do this.

David V

Intel Customer Support Technician

A Contingent Worker at Intel

I've checked your previous post; thank you for the reply.

It happened a couple of time that RST started with verify and repair by itself (this slowed down my system dramatically) and I wanted to prevent this by doing a verify and repair on a regular basis.

I run the RST every week now just in case.

Thanks again!

Regards,
