RST Raid-5 storage missing hard driver , C246 chipset

Hi all,

Gigabyte C246m-WU4 with 8 qty. SATA enterprise HDD run in Raid 5 configuration.

Last day when i was reboot the system (completed power off and restart), RST management program reported with me that the port 5 HDD was missing and the raid 5 storage was damaged. Existing port 5 HDD was separated display out off storage (same HDD model and SN)

Issues:

RST said my raid 5 storage was failed. (5 HDD normal, 1 HDD missing).
The missing HDD was displayed out of storage pool and the SN of missing HDD was changed from "V6HWZM5R" to "V6HWZM5R:0".
I had setup 2 qty. HDD for spare in system on before, but not have rebuilt button in program for recovery.

Question:

How can i recovery the existing raid storage pool?
shall i change the HDD SN in system manually?

I understand that you are experiencing a missing hard drive on your RAID 5 and that you are looking to recover the RAID.

After checking the description provided and the specifications of your computer we can see that you have an Intel® C246 Chipset.

As you can see in the website provided, this is a “Server” chipset, therefore, the support is provided by the manufacturer of the board.
