Two things to check: one, how much memory does the BIOS report, versus the OS. Two, is it memory from the S5000PAL tested memory list at http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/cs-022920.htm http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/cs-022920.htm

Untested memory can give you unpredictable results.

Hi,

I have an s5000pal based server, which I built myself on some third party chassis.

There are 2x1.86 GHz E5320 Xeons and 8GB of memory (8x1GB FBDIMM DDR2-533) on the board. All 8 modules are installed, 7 of them are working though,

The problem is that I see only 4GB enabled. Other 3 are disabled.

I tried putting 4 modules into branch 1 and 2 into branch 2 (forst according to rules from product spec, then all combinations) but still board doesn't enable them.

If I swap modules between branches they work, so the problem is not in modules themselves.

How would I enable remaining memory?

Thanks,

--Art
