I plan to buy one Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126 Processor, but I don't know if it supports the MBA feature.

As far as I know, the MBA feature is not included on previous Intel® Xeon® Processors E5-xxxx V4, which only supports: MBM, CAT, CMP, CDP.

Thanks,

Steven

Hi Imsteven,

According to the official documentation, the next generation of Intel® Xeon® processors will include Memory Bandwidth Allocation (MBA) starting with Linux.

Hi, Miguel,

So sad to know that the Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126 does not include this technology.

My order of 3*Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126+256GB Memory configured servers are on the way to my office. I do know what I can do further, since the only reason I buy them is MBA.

As far as I know, you claimed that MBA is supported by skylake last year.

There are also some reference saying that the skylake server will support MBA, for example: https://github.com/intel/intel-cmt-cat https://github.com/intel/intel-cmt-cat

Hope you can do something to enable MBA in Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126.

Best,

Steven

Hi Imsteven,

I have reviewed the official documentation of https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/resource-director-technology.html Intel® Resource Director Technology

and https://01.org/intel-rdt-linux/blogs/fyu1/2017/resource-allocation-intel%C2%AE-resource-director-technology Intel Resource Director Technology (RDT) in Linux from 01 Intel Open Source.org and Memory Bandwidth Allocation (MBA) is still under development.

The Intel Open Source website provides the information on how to set the Intel® Resource Director Technology using Linux operating system.

Current processors are supporting Memory Bandwidth Monitoring (MBM); I am adding some helpful links.

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/introduction-to-memory-bandwidth-monitoring Introduction to Memory Bandwidth Monitoring in the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5 v4 Family

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/memory-bandwidth-monitoring-usage-models Usage Models for Memory Bandwidth Monitoring in the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5 v4 Family

Third party websites contain useful information; however, the processor features, software details and more might not be accurate.
