Does the Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126 Processor support MBA (memory bandwidth allocation)?

I plan to buy one Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126 Processor, but I don't know if it supports the MBA feature.

As far as I know, the MBA feature is not included on previous Intel® Xeon® Processors E5-xxxx V4, which only supports: MBM, CAT, CMP, CDP.

Hi Steven,

Intel is always including new features on its products. The Memory Bandwidth Allocation is still under development and proximately will start working with Linux kernel 4.12.

It will be part of Intel® Resource Director Technology.

The next generation of Intel® Xeon processors might include this feature.

According to the official documentation, the next generation of Intel® Xeon® processors will include Memory Bandwidth Allocation (MBA) starting with Linux. The Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126 does not include this technology.

So sad to know that the Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126 does not include this technology.

My order of 3*Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126+256GB Memory configured servers are on the way to my office. I do know what I can do further, since the only reason I buy them is MBA.

As far as I know, you claimed that MBA is supported by skylake last year.

There are also some reference saying that the skylake server will support MBA, for example: https://github.com/intel/intel-cmt-cat https://github.com/intel/intel-cmt-cat

Hope you can do something to enable MBA in Intel® Xeon® Gold 6126.

The Intel Open Source website provides the information on how to set the Intel® Resource Director Technology using Linux operating system.

Current processors are supporting Memory Bandwidth Monitoring (MBM); I am adding some helpful links.
