I cleared the configuration of my raid adapter RSP3TD160F. All my drives are now listed as unconfigured. Is there a way to restore the array?

I know it was a boneheaded thing to do. I didn't realize what I did until after. I have (had!) a raid 6 array with 8 drives and another raid 5 with 3 other drives. Any help would be much appreciated.

Please let us understand the reasons why you cleared the configuration. Were you troubleshooting any preexisting issue? If not, we can try to scan for previous configurations under your RAID BIOS. If no configuration is found then you may want to recreate the RAID configuration in the exact same way it was originally created. If you need assistance with this process, you can always contact our nearest Intel office for individual support.

I was having trouble with the RAID 5 array. it was not important so I was going to re-set it. I figured I could clear it and rebuild it. The RAID 6 array has all my data and is very important. My backup is not working. I need to be able to restore it. I turned off the server and asked here. Is there any documentation as to doing this anywhere that I can look at?

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been trying to work it through. For some reason I get an error message on POST that no controller is detected. I cannot enter the RAID card's bios. After POST, the card is detected by the OS, I'm using VMware and passthrough to windows server. I am able to enter the Intel Web RAID console 3 and see the controls and drives.

Is there a way to scan the drives for an old configuration via console 3? I tried changing to another motherboard and processor combo but I get the same result. (these are consumer grade motherboards..)

Hello HKara7,

You can scan your old drives and try to restore the old configuration, what you need to do is recreate the RAID configuration in the exact same way it was originally created and when the system prompts you to initialize the drives select NO.
