CMPT means what in PTAT

Since we didn't see the "CMTP" in PTAT v4.8.2 when using Xeon 5 (SPR MCC & EMR MCC). I think this is different between Xeon 5 and Xeon 6.

Could you please explain what is CMPT in PTAT when using Xeon 6 (GNR-AP) or I could download which doc in Intel RDC?

In SPR & EMR

Turbo Boost Frequency shows as following

In GNR-AP 96 cores

Turbo Boost Frequency shows as following.

It shows three CMPT and SSE only shows 32 cores.

PTAT stands for Platform Thermal Analysis Tool. This tool helps monitor and analyze the thermal performance and behavior of the processor. Within PTAT reports, "CMPT" refers to the component.

Thanks your response. I had searched keyword of "CMPT" in PTAT 4.8.1 user guide before, but I cannot find related of CMPT in guide.

Could you help explain what is CMPT in PTAT? and what is CMPT full name?

CMPT only displayed on GNR but not on SPR and EMR.

It allows software to monitor Last-Level Cache (LLC) usage in real time on a per-application, per-VM, or per-logical processor basis. This functionality helps manage and optimize how different workloads utilize shared CPU cache resources.

CMPT provides visibility into how much of the shared LLC is being used by different applications, threads, or virtual machines running on the processor.

While Xeon® 6 processors introduce various architectural and performance enhancements over previous generations, the core functionality of Intel CMPT remains consistent across these platforms.

Thanks for your detail explanation for CMPT functionality.

I have the other two questions. A question 1 is I would like know how about to count CMPT for GNR-AP UCC CPU? Could I check the count of CMPT from Xeon 6 PDG, DCL or any documents?

Since when I downloaded the PTAT HW summary with PTAT 4.8.2, the GNR-AP UCC CPU displayed 3 CMPTs. The EMR MCC CPU didn't display any related of CMPT in PTAT HW summary. Pictures as the following for your reference.

A question 2 is how about count total CPU cores under IA/SSE group for GNR-AP CPU when we downloaded the CPU summary through PTAT?

For example, the CPU cores with EMR MCC directly display total counts which is 16 and there is no CMPT. But when we check with GNR-AP UCC that only display 32 cores. We need cores multiplied by CMPT so that we can get the correct total CPU cores.

Is this the correct way to calculate? Pictures as the following for your reference.

GNR-AP UCC | 32 cores * 3 CMTP = 96 cores
