I have managed to piece together quite the online killing machine:

S5000PSL

2x L5420 2.5ghz

32gb RAM

ATi 5750HD 1gb

Audigy2

I have tried the IDA boot CD to no avail. When I select the Intel website to get updates, it will hang for hours trying to connect to the Intel servers. When I select a USB thumbdrive which I have put the updating tools on, it hangs the same.

I've tried making a bootable USB drive using Rufus on FreeDOS and it will not boot. I'm pretty much at a wits end here, the issues I'm having are my CPU's being detected as 2.33ghz not 2.5 (though they are running at 2497.5mhz in CPU-Z), their stepping isnt supported by the BIOS and Im only getting 24gb RAM instead of 32gb, where C2 is disabled and D2 is failed. I've swapped sticks so I know my RAM is good.

FWIW, my BIOS is set to AHCI enabled where all 6 are enabled.gobs of horsepower and balls for days, I regularly get 200fps in Counter Strike Source max resolution all the eye candy on.

The possibility of bent CPU pins is high, these were scrap boards that I troubleshot and repaired and have been sitting on the shelf, our customers move them around carelessly sometimes. I've got some downtime this week coming up so I'll have a look under the hood. You're talking about the LGA on the board right? I'll check the stepping while I'm at it, I don't know off the top of my head what it is but I know they are identical matched processors.

I read somewhere the OFU isn't compatible with the S5000 because it uses a different chip architecture? Maybe I'm wrong? Either way I'll give it a shot, thanks bud.
