http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg

They're mostly involved in the development of the Intel drivers for Linux, but they've helped the occasional person who had questions on how to get his resolution running.

Just from what I see of your Monitor section... shouldn't HorizSyncand Vertical Refresh be a range and not a single number? Been a while since I looked at my xorg.conf, so I could be wrong. Also, it's reporting the i810 driver... I'd jump to the new Intel drivers get started there.

Hi,

I'm really struggling to set up the modeline on my ubuntu mythtv
fronted for my Sony KDL32V2500 lcd TV. I have tried numerous setting
and have had no joy. I have feisty fawn installed on an old Toshiba A2
laptop which has an Intel 855GM integrated graphics card. I have
installed 915 resolution drivers but still no mater what I only get
1024 x 768!!

Here is my xorg.conf, as you can see tried loads of different modelines:

Section "Device"
Identifier	"Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device"
Driver "i810"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "SonyBravia"
HorizSync 47.7
VertRefresh 84.72
#ModeLine "1360x768" 171.200 1360 1430 1542 1792 768 771 777 795 +hsync +vsync
#ModeLine "1360x768" 85.500 1360 1424 1536 1792 768 771 777 795 +Hsync +Vsync
#ModeLine "1360x768" 85.500 1360 1430 1542 1792 768 771 777 795 +hsync +vsync
#ModeLine "1280x768" 79.500 1280 1350 1478 1664 768 771 778 798 -hsync +vsync
Modeline "1360x768_60.00" 84.72 1360 1424 1568 1776 768 769 772 795 -Hsync +Vsync
EndSection

I have connected my XP laptop to the screen and managed to get the
native resolution of 1360 x768. Whilst in Windows I have run MonInfo
