Windows 8+Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate+Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2013 SP1

Hello to all,

I'm here with a difficult hurdle to overcome.

I'm using the 64bit Windows 8.1 with Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate.

I'm trying to install the Intel ® Parallel Studio XE 2013 SP1 but when I run the installer it tells me it will not install the following services:

"The Intel (R) Parallel Studio XE 2013 requires que Microsoft * development product be installed. Refer to the Release Notes for a list of the required Microsoft * development tools."

and

"The Following components can not be installed:
- Integration (s) in Microsoft Visual Studio * "

Now exactly what I wanted was the integration with Microsoft Visual Studio, does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Sarah,

The compiler in Intel Parallel Studio XE 2013 SP1 Update 1, which was posted in Oct 2013, doesn't support VS 2013. You need to download Composer XE 2013 SP1 Update 2, which officially support VS 2013. Hope this helps.

I think both SP1 update 1 and 2 should recognize VS2013, but the previous (original) SP1 would not, and in any case is not so reliable. The procedure for downloading nwere as well as older versions is posted at
