We hope to be using CVF on PCs without CD drives. Each computer will have its own CVF licence, but will only need to run the command line compile (and link) commands. I would also prefer the DF and associated executables to be kept on a network drive, not locally.

How do I set up these computers? I can point DF to a remote computer, but the local computer complains (quite rightly) that:

"Compaq Visual Fortran Optimizing Compiler Version 6.5 (Update A)
Copyright 2001 Compaq Computer Corp. All rights reserved.

year.for
Error: No license available or product improperly installed (1)"

I have tried to find the per-user setup command, but don't know where it is.

Eddie Breeveld

You MUST do an actual installation. See this Knowledge Base article for the details on how to install from a network server, running most of the product from the server.

This type of installation will install the compiler itself locally - most everything else will stay on the server.

Steve
