Enabling Profiler

The documentation give the following instructions to use profiling:

1 In the Project menu, select Settings.
2 Click the Link tab.
3 In the General category, click the Enable profiling checkbox (this turns off incremental linking).
4 In the General category, click the Generate mapfile checkbox.
5 Click OK to accept the current project settings.
6 Build your application.
7 After building your application, profile your project.

My problem is the Enable profiling checkbox is not active. Is there some other setting that inactivates it?

I also see an earlier posting on the forum that implies only one subroutine per file is included in the profiling. Is this right?

See if this knowledge base article helps at all.

The issue with the subroutines is that if you have multiple subroutines in a source file, the profiler will assign all the time in any subroutine to the first one. This has us truly baffled, and we hope to figure it out someday...
