I'd suggest trying a reinstall - it won't touch your workspaces.

Steve

i click on the developer studio icon and i get a single blue workspace screen with no command bars . until about two hours ago everything was fine; when i launced from d.s. i would get everything. do i need to reload from the cd? if so do i need to back up my workspaces or will the reload leave them alone. for all i can tell i might have just toggled something off.
