We would like to use the new coprocessor as a cryptographic accelerator and we wonder what performance we can get from it.

There's both good news and bad news. The good news is that there are some good numbers for DES and they will be made public. The bad news is that the authors desire to publish the information in a more formal piece of collateral (vs in this forum) sometime in the next couple of months.
