Active Monitor API

I would like to be able to get "Intel Active Monitor" stats into some other kind of app. I am a pretty able C/C++ programmer, with a little background on COM.

My basic little pet project is to log away and graph the system temperatures of my new D845GERG2 2.4GHz board, and put them alongside the CPU load stats I am already able to log. I could also then extend the very basic System alerts system so that it can e-mail me, phone me up or send a short message to my mobile phone (This part I am also already able to do) I just cannot find the entry points to getting the stats out of the active monitor thingymabob.
Can anyone help me with how imontray.exe gets it's info.
