topic Curious. I can get my custom in Software Archive

Curious. I can get my custom icon and splashscreen to load in my app when I use the legacy android build service but for some reason it just loads the default cordova icon with no splashscreen when I build with Crosswalk. Can you give me some direction to get my custom art injected properly?

Thanks

intel.xdk.display.startAR() alternative

I'm using the startAR() and stopAR() methods in an app I'm trying to deploy. I need this basic functionality to create a camera view for my marker overlays. I don't need a full fledged AR SDK. Does anyone know of a Cordova method or plugin for XDK I can use for this functionality. I think its interesting to note, with smart city and IOT applications evolving the need for quick AR solutions will increase to better engage with these services. You would think Apache, Intel pr Google would take a stronger position in providing this type of functionality instead of deprecating it. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, I saw the Wikitude

Thanks, I saw the Wikitude API and may talk to them for future needs however for the Alpha build I'm only using the Intel startAR() and stopAR() methods to trigger camera on and off through an accelerometer tilt event while overlaying simple location tags with POI information based physical direction. The camera view worked with legacy XDK builds however now I just get the tags floating over the screen without the camera turning on. Does Intel/Cordova have a simple replacement for startAR() and stopAR()?

We have not identified a good

We have not identified a good alternative to the starAR and stopAR features. All of those legacy plugins are available in an open source plugin repo, there is a link on this page: https://software.intel.com/en-us/xdk/docs/intel-xdk-api-cordova-plugin-methods-properties-events. You are welcome to fork and update/customize those plugins to meet your needs.

Gregory, can you start a new thread on that subject. Also, please search the forum, this is a frequently asked question which I suspect has already been answered.
