In theory, you could have more than one computer, with one camera on each computer. You could then construct an online multiplayer app that runs in a web browser where the camera-powered assets from each individual computer 'log in' to a single room where they are all shown together. That's the theory, anyway. Making such an application might be a bit more difficult!

Hello guys,

nice to meet you! I am a newbie at Intel Real Sense and I have a question... just a little one :)

I am working with the Microsoft Kinect sensor (V1 and V2) for a quiet long time and now a want to start to work with the Intel Real Sense.
I have to know if there would be the feature to use multiple cameras on one PC. I found some Topics that it is not possible at the moment but I hope this feature will be added in the future.
Come on, any insinder here? :)

Have a nice day!

Florian

Welcome to Intel RealSense SDK. You will find more interesting and flexible usage with RealSense SDK. Currently we did not have plan to support multiple cameras at the same time.

Hello David,

Hello David,

thank you for answers!
In my scenario I need more than one camera :( So can you imaging a way, where I can get only the depthframe from more than one camera, or is it just not possibe? If it is so, what are the reasons?

USB 3.0? Would it be a solution if I take more USB 3.0 controllers?

Or is it just a not planed feature in the SDK?

Has anyone the same problem, or better... the solution for my problem?

Thank you very much!

Hello Marty,

Hello Marty,

I already had the same idea. I have already built a program for the Kinect V2 which combines the data of two (or even more) PCs.
The problem now is, that I don't want (and I also can't) use more than one PC.

I hope there will be a solution for it in the future.

Best Regards,
Florian
I wonder if it would be

I wonder if it would be possible to run more than one camera on the same PC by using a Virtual Machine setup, where you can have more than one OS running at the same time. A Microsoft guide about this says that Windows 8.1 has a program built into it called Hyper-V that enables virtualization.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/hyper-v-run-virtual-machines
