topic remote debug session, App preview Crosswalk not installed in Software Archive

Greetings! And thank you for any help offered.... I'm very new to programming, please simplify any help/explanation.

I have an android samsung ring SPH-M840 XDK installed on a Windows 7 Dell Inspiron, I've been using the intel appCenter Cloud, however it is being discontinued in the future. I'm attempting to figure out how to use the XDK remote debug tools with my android connected to my laptop. The device is selected (upper right corner of the debug tab scrn just below the projects).

In the debug tab it tells me I can "begin your remote debugging session" when I click the debug or run icon I get the message the App Preview Crosswalk 0.27 not installed. I click Install it now.... it show installing (I'm assuming to the android) Once download is complete I'm getting an error message suggesting to 'try again'

On one occasion, I got a numbered error message of Suggestion:Retry.:600 ADB error

I have read the intel post https://software.intel.com/en-us/xdk/docs/why-use-crosswalk-for-android-builds and I somewhat understand. However, I can not find any reason / explanation and/or solution to why I'm getting the error using the XDK download Crosswalk option.

Any help / insight will be greatly appreciated.

Just curious, and I don't know if this has an impact. Did you download the "base" XDK App Preview app from the Play store first? I know I already had it installed and mine and the crosswalk update from the XDK worked without incident.

Thanks Barrett J.
I should have mentioned that... I do have the App Preview installed.

I have been using the AppCenter Cloud (intel says they are discontinuing that service), consequently, I'm trying to figure out how to use the debug locally tools.

Why are you using appCenter?

Why are you using appCenter? You can push updates to the QA bucket and the Prod bucket for your apps from within the XDK.

Thanks John,

Thanks John,
I'm not completely sure of what you are referring too (hence... my status as a beginner).

The purpose of this post is I'm getting an error message from the XDK when I'm trying to use the debugging tools.

When I go to the debug tab I check to make sure (upper right-hand corner) my device is listed (my android device is plugged into my computer)
Next, I click the run icon and the "App Preview Crosswalk 0.27 not installed" message pops up, with the option of install it now --click.

Msg: Downloading Crosswalk (showing percent process).... then I get the error message about crosswalk not installed with suggestion:Retry.

The XDK will NOT allow me to run or debug an app using the Debug -> You can now begin your remote debugging session.

Thanks Again,

@Stu -- I know it's been a while since this was posted, but I have a suspicion that you have a space in your userid (if you type "echo %userprofile%" at a command prompt, without the quotes it will show your userid). I think that may be causing the problem you are encountering with an unsuccessful install of APX. Can you confirm?
