How do you launch the program?

I have installed the intel XDK program and have an icon on my screen. When I click on the icon I only get an option to repair or uninstall. How do you launch it?

I have done that at least a dozen times in the last 2 days, I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least a dozen times. I have submitted a ticket only to get the answer visit the forums for help. Very disappointing customer service from Intel.

See the FAQs for a method to completely uninstall and re-install. Also, are you installing on Windows XP? The product will not work properly on XP, must be Windows 7 and above. See Q27 on this page: https://software.intel.com/en-us/xdk/faqs/general

Also, there is an obscure bug that causes the XDK to not run if the "global-settings.xdk" file is corrupt. If that is what is causing this problem, you'll want to ignore the part in the instructions about making a copy of that file.

Mike, did you try the complete uninstall procedure that I pointed to? And did you also try deleting the global-settings.xdk file?

Can you do the following?

1. press Windows Start button.

2. On top right press search icon.

3. Type Intel XDK in the search box.

Do you see Intel XDK in the drop down (with blue icon)?

If so, click on it and it will launch the XDK.

To create a launch shortcut on your desktop, right click on Intel XDK and choose "pin to taskbar" option

If you do not see Intel XDK in the drop down, please let me know.

SWATI S Thank you, that actually worked. I dont know why on install it doesnt provide a shortcut, only an uninstall icon. Seems backwards.
