The Intel® RealSense™ SDK for Windows* (version 2014, Gold) is Now Available!

This release features:
•   Gold versions of Core (Depth/RGB/UV Map), Face, Hand, and Speech, and Unity Toolkit
•   Beta versions of Background Segmentation, Object Tracking, Touchless touch (MW version of Finger Lakes capabilities).
•   Alpha version of Web support, and experimental version of Emotion detection

In addition, this release includes significantly improved performance across the entire stack. Developers need both the SDK and an Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera (F200) in order to enable their apps with Intel RealSense technologies. Please reserve your peripheral Intel® RealSense™ Developer Kit camera if you need one.

On my Windows 7 64 bit machine, running the Unity Toolkit to install its new files in place of the last version of the toolkit caused Unity to lock up in a 'black screen of death' (BSOD) when Unity launched. When I quit out with Ctrl-Alt-Del and relaunched, there was a game-breaking error with the tracking script that said it could detect both Windows and Mac OSX lines.

I cleared the error and got my program running again by deleting the RealSense SDK Gold folder from my computer (the Toolkit had imported the necessary files into my Unity project when I ran it, so deleting the source folder didn't break the SDK functionality in Unity.)

Just providing this info in case anyone else gets the BSOD so they don't panic!

Edit: Intel's Colleen has posted a sticky to the forum with release notes and documentation for the Gold SDK that explains the problems with using Win7 and the Creative camera. Thanks Colleen, the info is very appreciated.

I have been unable to install

I have been unable to install the Gold SDK. I have no other versions installed. I am running Windows 8.1 and Visual Studio Professional 2013.

Thanks for your interest in the Intel® RealSense™ SDK. We are currently experiencing issues with our download center and anticipate resolution soon. Alternatively, to download the SDK, you can try accessing the version on the People’s Republic of China mirror.

I downloaded this version twice. The first time it was 448 MB. The second time it was 110 MB. The reported size before downloading is 1.4 GB. It does not report an error in downloading, it just doesn't give you the full file.

I tried to install the larger package. Windows reports that it stopped the install of an unrecognised application (ok, I expect that) so I clicked "Run anyway", and nothing happens.

Is there any other download link that works? I need to work on my competition entry to get it in for the early bird deadline!

I am also facing issues to download the file. Actually I have downloaded the entire 1.4 GB using Download Manager. But once download is completed, Norton Antivirus is Quarantining the file saying that file is malicious. Virustotal site is reporting the site as malicious. Could you please check it ?

I could not install the latest SDK as Bitdefender was blocking the unpacking of the installer with the following error message

The file C:\[...]\Local\Temp\[...]\plugin\string_list.micl is infected with Gen:Variant.Kazy.442665. The virus has been successfully blocked and your PC is now safe. [...]

I had to disable live scanning to be able to install the SDK (Gold version). It happened for both the latest offline and the web installer. This wasn't an issue with version 2.0.30.73832 of the SDK.

Used the web setup package from here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/realsense/intel-realsense-sdk-for-windows and it worked perfectly! Running on 4th Gen i7 hardware, and using the USB 3 port for the camera.

Lot better than last year. Well done!

No, the RealSense SDK currently ONLY supports windows 8.1. Thanks!

Hi all,

I just installed the Gold SDK and cannot get a single sample running. The RealSense camera is detected but as soon as I click the start button, either of the apps does nothing. No image coming, nothing. Hitting stop just makes the app crash.

How is one supposed to develop a contest app when things do not work?

Would be glad to get hints about how to get things working with the cam.

(I have an i7-3770k CPU, so this should not pose any problem...)

Windows 8.1 (or later) is the only OS supported.
Some camera samples won't run correctly if the user's Windows directory has any non-English characters in it.
If you are having other issues, please specifically state what modules/samples aren't running and what happens (as well as your OS and CPU).
