App Starter Issues

Hi,

I have a problem with App starter that when I emulated the yoga App in the Intel XDK the images show very nicely but when I use the App Preview and see it on my Phone images do not show up.

I hope it is clear enough to understand the problem......................................

Probably not clear enough. To start with:

1) What Yoga app? Maybe I am missing it, but I didn't see a Yoga app among the sample templates in the XDK. Could you point to it? If it does not have "Yoga" in the name, could you mention what app you are using?

2) What phone? (Android, iOS, WP?)

Maybe include the HTML or javascript with which you are referencing the images? Given the lack of details, the best guess I can offer is that you are referencing images which are not part of your project and are thus not getting pushed down to App Preview.

Hi Akshay,

What Intel XDK version are you using? If you created the project from the yoga sample, it probably already has the images in the project directory. Did you make any changes to the sample. If so, what are they?

In the meantime, here are two things you can try:

1. Go to https://appcenter.html5tools-software.intel.com, delete the project and try uploading it to the test server again.

2. Try it as a built app.

Hi,

I have created the Yoga App using App Starter and Version of Intel XDK is 1.0.9.38.

The Problem is now described with images also :

1)I see the images very nicely When I emulate the app.

2)But it does show the images in the App Preview.

I First emulate it on microsoft surface pro which is windows 0S and then I ran it on my phone which also run Windows OS.

Now,I have attached the images for further clarification................................................................

My experience is that WP8 does not seem to handle SVG in the App Preview. Can't say if built apps are different.

I was going to say try a different image file format but Barrett beat me to it :) You could try just any .jpg or .png image and see how it renders.

Hi,

I Just try to render the images of other format it worked correctly.

But I have one more problem that now as the images are being displayed but they do not scale according to my phone.

1)I have attached the picture for that you can see that there is large gap between the scrolling button and images and its content.Please help me with this

2)After I Choose the app I want to view, and when I am done and push the back button of my Phone Phone,the Intel App Preview crashes and I directly reach the home of my phone.

Refer to the Intel XDK FAQs -> Q: How do I size UI elements in my project?

You need to use three fingers and tap together on the screen to exit your app. It take some practice but give it a try. It should bring you back to app preview.
