HAXM is a part of emulator, which usually runs in your development machine with large memory. Lack of memory will make emulator slow because your memory is used by both Guest OS and Host OS simultaneously.
The 1G requirement is an experience value. With 1GB memory, for example, you can only give Guest OS 512 MB and Host OS 512 MB, which is a slow configuration. And you also need to make sure there’s no other unrelated threads running in Host, which will make it much slower.

hi,

HAXM installer throws "You need at least 1024 MB RAM to install driver. Detected 1014 MB only."

Is there any way to bypass this.

Hi Ionel,

Hi Ionel,
I want to experience android gingerbread(light & old) with Intel virtualization and as you can see I have a 1 gb RAM but installer shows 1014 mb RAM(10mb short).
So, is there any other way to install it manually or some workaround solution or the only choice is to install some more RAM in the other slot.

Best regards,

I personally recommend to increase RAM size on your system.
