Android inappbrowser https blank page

I am using cordova-plugin-inappbrowser version 1.3.0 (Feb 09, 2016) and am unable to load https url's on android. The browser opens successfully but just a blank page appears. When I change the same URL to http it works fine. I have whitelisted every domain and added * to catch all. In doing some research I followed the below instructions but the build failed every time. iOS does not have this issue. Please help.

After some more research, looks like theres an issue with my SSL chain and not related intel xdk:
