      <title>Problem Using Floating License With Windows 7</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Our company is using a floating license. &amp;nbsp;To direct our developer machines to the license, we place a UseServer.lic file at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses. &amp;nbsp;This files contains the name of our license server, along with some port information. &amp;nbsp;That works well for all of us, except for one developer with a Windows 7, 64-bit machine. &amp;nbsp;(The rest of us are on Windows 10, 64-bit.) &amp;nbsp;The Intel Software Manager on the Windows 7 machine does not seem to be able to figure out how to get to the license server,and it insists on asking for a serial number for that individual developer. &amp;nbsp;Any help with this issue would be appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;If you are running the Intel tools in command line, you can simply set the INTEL_LMD_DEBUG environment variable to create debug log for your check-out issue:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle0"&gt;SET INTEL_LMD_DEBUG="C:\temp\LicenseCheckout.log"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.5;"&gt;If you are running a GUI application on Windows*, set the debugging environment&amp;nbsp;variable to the appropriate value by following the steps below:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;1. Click &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle3"&gt;Start &amp;gt; Settings &amp;gt; Control Panel &amp;gt; System &amp;gt; Advanced&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt; Environment Variables&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;
	2. Under system variables click &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle3"&gt;New&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;
	3. Enter &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle4"&gt;INTEL_LMD_DEBUG &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;in the text box for &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle3"&gt;Variable Name&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;
	4. In the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle3"&gt;Variable Value &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;text box, input the full path to the log file in&amp;nbsp;which you would like to capture the results. For example&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;
	&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle4"&gt;C:\temp\LicenseCheckout.log&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;
	5. Click &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle3"&gt;OK &amp;gt; OK &amp;gt; OK&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle2"&gt;.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;
	&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle5"&gt;Note: &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN class="fontstyle0"&gt;It is very important that you unset this debugging environment variable once your&amp;nbsp;issue has been resolved or once you have submitted the support request. Not doing so&amp;nbsp;will result in slower performance when the client application is running. Every time you&amp;nbsp;submit a license checkout log, you must make sure that the old log is deleted and the&amp;nbsp;new log has been created before it is attached to your support request.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Please send the log to me in &lt;STRONG&gt;Private message&lt;/STRONG&gt; in case it contains licensing information.&lt;/P&gt;
