After a google search, I figure out it could be due to missing license. So according to this page https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/how-do-i-get-a-license-file-for-an-offline-installation-of-intel-parallel-studio-xe-2016 I have to know my hostid. However, the tutorial here https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/how-to-find-the-host-id-for-the-named-user-license is not working. Because ifconfig is not functional under win 10's sub linux system. What should I do?

When non-support of wsl was discussed on these forum a response from intel said it might be considered in the future. My own experience with instability of wsl raises doubts.

Do you mean that it is currently impossible to install intel parallel studio on wsl? But it seems to me the main problem now is I can not get a hostid. I have already installed dozens of tools and packages in wsl, works totally fine.

I just downloaded MKL2017u2, it installed without any problem in wsl. So I think the installation problem with intel parallel studio is that though it provides free edition for student, licensing issue prevent it from installing.

Do you mean that you failed to install MKL on bash or Intel parallel studio on bash?

I recently Installed Prallel Studio 2018 on Windows 10 Falls Creators update WSL but trouble is,even though after successful installation and setting environment I couldn't invoke Intel C/C++ Compiler through ICPC and ICC.One of my friends post it here - https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-c-compiler/topic/747614
