Intel Performance Counter Monitor (Intel PCM) 2.5 released

The web page of Intel Performance Counter Monitor has been updated to include version 2.5.It includes the following changes:

Support 4^th generation Intel® Core™ processors (previously codenamed Haswell)
New utility (pcm-tsx) for monitoring Intel® Transactional Synchronization Extensions (Intel® TSX) metrics (transactional success (total/transactional/aborted cycles) and custom TSX events)
New utility (pcm-pcie) for monitoring PCIe traffic on Intel® Xeon® E5 processors
Improved the speed of reading performance counters by factor up to 3x using new PCM::getAllCounterStates call
Added Windows 2012 support

Does PCM 2.5 support Energy Measurements using PCM-power utility for Haswell CPUs (all or some?). Apparently, it is still only for E5 series CPUs? We are interested in buying a new system that support power measurements for different components. Waiting for your reply.

Is there any typical CPU+motherboard combination that can well support PCM-power utility? The type names of CPU and motherboard are very helpful.

Does either of the following configuration of CPU and motherboard supports energy usage report for CPU socket and DRAM, by intel PCM?

1) CPU: Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1285 v3

Motherboard: Intel® Server Board S1200V3RPL

2) CPU: Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-1660

Motherboard:Intel® Server Board S1600JP2

If not? Why? Special BIOS version required? Any Alternatives?

No, these processors are not supported by pcm-power. You will need at least a 2-socket server for pcm-power, e.g. the Intel Xeon E5-2600 processor series. The next release of Intel PCM will also support Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 processors (based on micro-architecture code-named Ivy Bridge).
