Hi Miguel

both sides are configured with autodetect. They are not forced to full duplex

(Option "*SpeedDuplex" is 0 (Autodetect))

* * * * * "Intel® vPro - AMT does not negotiate the link speed" * * * * **

That is true, but AMT force the computer to reduce power consumption of the device. This include reducing the link speed to 10 Mb.

For any reason sometimes the systems does not renegotiate the networkspeed when windows driver is loaded.

OK this might be an error of the firmware, but it is linked to AMT. That is the reason why I drop this post in AMT forum.

I feel this is bug!

Unfortunately, Fujitsu does not provide any new BIOS-Updates. Therefore, I have to find a workaround.

It would be possible to force the network card to newly negotiate the link at windows boot time, but this cause a network interruption of about 10 seconds.

Regards.

Hi @intel , @Azeem_Intel @MIGUEL_C_Intel,

that trouble is known. https://github.com/Ylianst/MeshCommander/issues/16#issuecomment-785311120
If vPro/AMT session is established before the system is powered on, the link speed does not change from 10Mb/s if OS is up.
That happens on all machines from Desktop Q87/Q170/Q370/Q670(by ASUS, Gigabyte, Intel orig board, etc.) and all generations of vPro NUCs(core i Gen 8+) and the new NUCs(Ultra 1 series by ASUS) and Notebooks(LENOVO).
The driver does not matter on that trouble, the OS(Windows or Linux) does not matter as well: the link speed does not change to expected link-speed, even you re-plug the LAN wire...
Only power off the system, disconnect from vPro/AMT session, waits 3minutes(or timeout setting), then powering the system by button or WoL the link speed goes to 1/2.5Gb/s full duplex.

The issue exists about 12+ years in vPro/AMT, we have reported it multiple times.
Can you please give that issue a prio and fix that finally to fit the expected behavior?
Expected:
if OFF the link can stay on 10Mb/s
if ON the link-speed must become the maximum possible speed 100/1000/2500 from the switch.
