Intel EMA Installation Error- Error when Creating Intel® EMA Root Cert

Hello, I am working through the Intel EMA installation process, but I hit a snag, I have the logs to send but I am not sure where I am stuck at, also I am not sure if I will need to restart the entire installation process or if it will kick off from where it is currently stopped, any and all help is appreciated.

I do have the cert, I don't believe that the cert is installed yet. But I got this error during the initial installation of EMA, is it typical to install the cert before launching the EMA Installer?

HoldenJolley,

Right, we see that you have the GoDaddy certificate purchased already. If you are provisioning the EMA in the ACM mode, yes, you may have to install the certificate as shown in the link shared.

And sure, you may continue from the place where you have stopped the EMA installation.

Thanks for sharing your observation.

The issue seems to be with the communication between the EMA server and the EMA database.

Which operating system will handle the Intel® EMA server?
Will the EMA server and EMA database in the same machine? (Physical or virtual)
Did you let Intel® EMA software create the EMA database, or you are using an existing one?
Which is the SQL version of the EMA database, and the OS of the machine?
Is the EMA database admin the same as the SQL database? (db owner)
Will you authenticate the endpoints with EMA, Windows AD, or Azure AD?
Did you log into Windows Server with the Admin User of the Active Directory?
Is the EMA installer the same Admin User of the Active Directory?
Does the Admin User of the Active Directory have access to the SQL database?
Please remember to run EMA software with Administrator rights.

For reference, review section 1.3.3 Database of the Intel(R) EMA Server Installation and Maintenance Guide.pdf version 1.11.0 (latest) included in the EMA software zip file.

Ema Server and the EMA Databse are two seperate servers, they are both virtual
The EMA installer created the database and the first time it ran fine, later giving the error we talked about above, I only started getting this new error after installing the certs
Microsoft SQL 2019 and Windows Server 2022
Yes, they should be the same
Azure AD
Yes
Yes
I can confirm that it is running with admin rights

Hi Holden Jolley,

Thanks for sharing that information.

We would recommend uninstalling the Intel EMA server, if it is a first installation. (screen shots have been attached)

Then navigate to the certificates on the local machine, as shown in screen shot and delete all the certificates under the personal tab in the local Computer.

And reinstall EMA from the scratch and then provision the certificates once the Intel EMA server installation is successfully completed.

Please execute the plan of action shared above and share your observation.

I tried that with no success, I did notice that my certs are a little different than what the pdf says, could this be part of the issue?

Yes, we see that this should be the one that is causing the issue, please refer to the screen shot attached, which shows the certificate options that is reflecting in the settings tab of the EMA console, and that is how it should be seen once the certificates are provisioned.

I have removed the old certs and got the new go daddy certs in, but I am still getting the same error message

I did manage to get past that part, so thank you for the assistance there, I made some progress before getting stuck again. So, if you are up for it How To Resolve Unable to successfully validate Azure AD settings - Intel Community is the new issue that I am having; but overall, I just wanted to say thank you for assisting me through the installation process.
