Your rapid feedback, Doc, is highly appreciated. Following the principle "Never touch a running system", I prefer to only rely on the Intel update method relating to the Intel and Realtek drivers installed here. Last year I had a problem with the audio devices following a respective Norton driver update, and I received valuable assistance in this helpful Forum.

Thanx again to all for their attention and have a nice day.

EURAnalyst

Hello all,

Norton Driver Update Software is showing a dozen "outdated drivers" after I had recently updated the Intel ones via Intel Support Assistant. which now is showing only one updateable left. See three attachments.

Should I simply ignore Norton's warning?

Thanx in advance for any useful info and have a meaningful day out there.

EURAnalyst

You can ignore norton, or not. Yes, there are plenty of drivers that CAN be updated. IDSA is VERY limited.

Now, if you start updating with Norton, be prepared to have a backup, as some of these updates can cause problems.

If you do not know what you are doing, leave well enough alone.

Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[CoPilot is a virus, W11 is a keystroke logger, all from MicroSlop]

Many thanks, vij1, for your kind attention. As doc remarked "You can ignore norton, or not.", I've waited for some official's possible additional comment. I conclude from your mail that my decision to ignore norton in this respect was o. k. So the case can be closed and doc's feedback be accepted as solution.

Best regards

EURAnalyst

Hi EURAnalyst,

Thank you for your update.

I’m glad to hear that the clarification was helpful. Yes, your decision to ignore the Norton prompt in this case is absolutely fine. Since the issue is now resolved on your side, we will go ahead and close the case, and doc’s feedback will be accepted as the final solution.

If you need any further assistance in the future, please feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Vijay
