I'd be interested in hearing more about this product integration. Would it be possible to use the Intel 3PDS to store information about virtual packages in the AMT firmware?

FYI, we are heavily considering using the App-V functionality in R2.

Trevor Sullivan

Systems Engineer

OfficeMax Corporation

I am starting to setup my lab with SCCM R2 to begin looking at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/appvirtualization/cc721196.aspx App-V integration Microsoft has developed into this release. I want to tie the relevance of this App-V integration into our vPro management capabilities. I'd like to ask the community if anyone has started looking into this intersection of vPro and SCCM R2 App-V integration?

Please feel free to contact me directly or post information here. Once I get more time with the technology, research within Intel and Microsoft, and feedback from the community I will create a similar http://communities.intel.com/community/openportit/vproexpert/activation/blog/2008/10/10/updated-quick-start-guide-for-microsoft-sccm Quick Start Guide like I did for SCCM SP1 and vPro. But first I'd love to hear from you any information you can provide. If this takes off, I will start a separate blog where we can continue to grow this discussion.

Thanks, Bill

Interested to know more about what you would like to accomplish with the 3PDS as it relates to virtualization. Can you explain your thoughts/ideas?

Well, I was wondering if it would help to allow inventorying of virtual application packages that are current installed / in use on the target system. I've heard that Altiris is using the 3PDS to store inventory data, and I'm wondering if this can be accomplished with a little custom development work in ConfigMgr.

Trevor Sullivan

Systems Engineer

OfficeMax Corporation
