Intel® Setup and Configuration Software notification

To our valued ecosystem partners and customers, we would like to inform you about the upcoming deprecation of Intel® Setup and Configuration Software (Intel® SCS). Intel® SCS will continue to be supported until December 31, 2022. Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA) will replace Intel SCS going forward as the Intel supported solution for activating and configuring Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT).

The latest version of Intel SCS 12.2.0.150 will continue to be available on the download center until March 31, 2021.

Intel SCS will no longer be available for public download after March 31, 2021.
After March 31, 2021, Intel SCS download webpage will only reflect evergreen errata, containing a full list of known issues, workarounds or mitigations.
The 11th Gen Intel® Core™ vPro® platform-based devices are the last generation to be supported with Intel SCS. Future Intel vPro platform devices (beyond 11^th Gen Intel® Core™ vPro® platform) will require Intel EMA to support Intel AMT.
Sustaining customer support for Intel SCS will continue through December 31, 2022. Sustaining customer support is limited to answering customer questions, but not including feature enhancements or bug fixes.

Intel offers several modern manageability tools for Intel AMT, which provide capabilities to enable our customers’ cloud strategies, manageability anywhere, and compatibility with popular management suites.

Cloud and Enterprise IT customers are advised to migrate to Intel EMA, an Intel AMT software tool, which provides enterprise IT with cloud capabilities and in and out of band manageability beyond the firewall. Please refer to the links below for how to deploy Intel EMA.

For commercial software vendors for embedded and IoT use cases, Open Active Management Technology Cloud Toolkit provides activation and configuration of Intel AMT as well as Intel AMT use case solutions as an alternative to using Intel SCS.

For independent software developers, Intel Active Management Technology Software Development Kit (SDK) provides sample code and a set of APIs that let developers easily and quickly incorporate Intel® AMT functionality into their applications. The SDK also includes a full set of HTML documentation.
