I was looking for a supported network adapter. I have an

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN which was the same dimensions as my original

adapter in my Asus N61Jq-B2 laptop with Windows 7. The reason I switched was

because mine had only one antenna and could get only 50 Mbps internet speed. I

wanted to get at least 100 Mbps. I get over 200 Mbps wired. I think Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 is still

supported, but I don't know for how long and I don't know if it would have the

same dimensions. I would appreciate any help in this matter. I want to be sure

I can stay supported with updating the drivers.

You will not be supported if you attempt to do this yourself.

As mentioned by Doc, we don't support custom wireless integrations. Some laptop manufacturers limit which adapters can be installed in your system via a white list. Because of this, our best recommendation is to work with your system OEM to find a suitable replacement part, and if possible, to purchase this new adapter from them. This way you can avoid compatibility issues, and won't end up buying an adapter intended for a different branded laptop.

The Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 was manufactured in the PCIe Half MiniCard (HMC) form factor, which has now been superseded in current adapter models by M.2. All HMC adapters have reached the End of Life (EOL) status, which signifies that they are no longer being manufactured. While EOL adapters are still included in newer driver packages, these may not always include updated drivers for these models.

Both the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 and the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6250 have been discontinued and reached their End of Interactive Support (EOIS) life cycle status. If you're looking for a 2x2 antenna, HMC adapter, which is only EOL and not EOIS, we can recommend checking the following adapters with your computer manufacturer. Before purchasing, make sure to confirm the form factor, as some of these were made in both M.2 and HMC:
