My new Dell laptop came with this adapter and for days I tried to make it work. It would constantly drop DNS even though the IP address had the proper DNS server, reconnecting for a while after ipconfig release/renew. I tried all the suggestions posted in the 3160 threads. Finally, after several drivers and configuration changes, I replaced my old Linksys WRT54GS and all the problems went away. This adapter just doesn't work with this old single band (2.4) router. It's a shame because all my other devices (6 of them) work fine with it.

It works well with the new router (Linksys e2500) btw; no complaints.
