Thema "Intel Centrino 6300 Ultimate N" in Wireless

How does this card connect at 300 or 450Mbs? What router and settings does intel actual use to get this. I have a Cisco E3000 router which is a dual band very capable N router, e yet I cant get the thing to show above 130Mbs via Windows. I want to be able to see 300, as my router does this and this card is advertised too, via Windows netowrk sharing section. I run a Windows 7 Home premium, 64 bit and have latest drivers installed..

Hello Steve40th396,

If you are not using Bluetooth*, please disable it as it uses the same antennas and this may impact your Wi-Fi speeds. Because Bluetooth* and Wi-Fi transmit in different ways using different protocols, interference can occur when Wi-Fi operates in the 2.4GHz band. Bluetooth wireless technology and 802.11b/g both use the 2.4 GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) unlicensed spectrum, and in some configurations can interfere with each other.

Also Find the optimized wireless connection settings between the WLAN adapter and the router. By choosing the settings which suits the network environment and the router, you can have a better connection quality and more stable connection. Let us know if this information helped you.

No change, but I did disable Blue tooth. I am curious as to what router Intel used to get there numbers, or they are theoretical..

Hello Steve40th396,

It is important that you know that this wireless card has 3 antennas and in order for you to get the same throughput your router also needs to have 3 antennas.

Updating the firmware on the router and the drivers for the wireless card can help as well. Please check the links below as they may help you answering your question.

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-006321.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Access Point (AP) Firmware Updates May Resolve Wireless Network Issues

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/cs-025343.htm Wireless Networking — How to Configure 802.11n Channel Bonding on Intel Wireless Adapters

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=wifi+recommended+settings Wireless Networking — What are the Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity?

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031509.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Possible Interference by Other Wireless Devices May Impact 802.11n Performance

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-030282.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Why am I Not Able to Connect at 300 Mbps with My 802.11n Device?

Let us know if these pieces of information helped you.
