Hi I have the sky router Sagem 2504N. Router is supposed to be N enabled but does not anywhere in its setting the enablement of 'N'.

Currently I am getting speed of 144Mbps to the router from my laptop which has the N6200. Shouldnt this be 300Mbps?

What I have done already:

I have changed the encryption to WPA2-PSK (AES)

Changed the Router's channel from Auto to 6 as suggested here: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031509.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031509.htm

Ensured the settings I am using on the 2504N are as suggested on this site.

What else can I do as I really thought I'd have a 300Mpbs connection the router?

Many thanks in Advance

I suggest you to take into considerations the following links, they show the recommended settings in windows for best performance using the "N" protocol and some suggestinons regarding interference by other wireless devices:

What are the recommended settings for 802.11n connectivity?

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=%28recommended+settings+n%29 http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=%28recommended+settings+n%29

Possible interference by other wireless devices may impact 802.11n performance

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031509.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031509.htm

Data rate will not exceed 54 Mbps when WEP or TKIP encryption is configured

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/4965agn/sb/cs-025643.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/4965agn/sb/cs-025643.htm

You can also try to update the firmware of the router.

I hope these recommendations help you with your issue.

Thanks. I had actually done all of them and am still getting stuck at the connection of 144Mbps with the router.

Do you or anyone else know if this wireless card is just the draft 'N' or the final 'N' ?

Thanks

I just got a new company notebook and hat exactly the same issues. My problem was that I used WPA with TKIP instead WPA2 with AES as mentioned here:

http://www.admin-enclave.com/en/solutions/windows/140-solve-an-issue-where-an-802-11n-wlan-shows-only-a-54-mbit-s-datarate.html Solve an issue where an 802.11n WLAN shows only a 54 Mbit/s datarate
