kenofstephen,

Intel® Wireless Adapters are not meant to be sold to end-users, they are meant to be installed by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) as they may do all the necessary adaptations in order for the adapter to be fully compatible to the type of system it is being installed.

The drivers we have provided you on post # 4 are the latest drivers available in our download center and should work regarding Intel® WiDi . At this point, we recommend to engage GIGABYTE* in order to obtain additional support for this integration as they can clarify all your doubts about this specific system. For your convenience, here is the link to it: http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5326&kw=GB-BXi7H-55001.0# ov GB-BXi7H-5500

Best regards,

Aleki

Driver version:

18.33.0.2 installed via Intel driver update utility

Driver date:

28th January 2016

Problem description:

1.) Using the "Connect" feature of Windows 10 to Microsoft wireless display adapter doesn't work, tested devices with other Wi-Fi modules, no problem:

https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/accessories/wireless-display-adapter-2 Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

2.) WiDi doesn't work either, connecting to a WiDi certified receiver: the Microsoft Wirless Display Adapter, same as above.

The Wireless Display Adapter uses Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ Miracast® technology, so you're not limited to certain apps or content streaming; you can display everything from your device on an HDTV or monitor. The Wireless Display Adapter is also an Intel® Wireless Display (WiDi) certified adapter and works with 2-in-1s and tablet devices with Intel WiDi capability.

3.) Bluetooth mouse stopped working for a while from time to time, for about 10 seconds, and then come back, which never happened before.

kenofstephen,

Windows®10 uses Miracast* to connect in order to establish this connection. Since you have mentioned that you have replaced this card, could please confirm if the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 is installed by factory? Regarding replacing the wireless adapter, it is important that you know that Intel does not support integration which is when the orignal wireless adapter is replaced by another card, check this advisory for more information on this matter: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005687.html Regulatory Information Regarding Harware Installation or Upgrade

1. While having the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 installed, did you try to connect via Miracast*?

2. Have you consulted with the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html computer manufacturer for any updates in case this adapter is the orignal one isntalled by factory? You may find your computer manufacturer contact information in the link above.

Sometimes, depending on the antivirus and firewall configuration, the connection may be impacted. Also, active Bluetooth* and possible active VPNs may interfere with the connection.

As a second option, you are wecome to try a clean installation of the latest generic drivers using the drivers found in our download center. Here is how you can do it.

2. Download and save:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25957/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=86210 Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40] version 15.40.23.4444 released on April 29th, 2016

3. Download and save: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25833/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10?product=83635 Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 10 version 18.40.0 according to your sistem architecture 32 or 64 Bit. *The PROSet package version is 18.40.0 but the driver version for the adapter may vary as follow 18.33.0.x

Download and save: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25153/Intel-WiDi-Pro-WiDi-Software-for-Windows- Intel® WiDi/Pro WiDi Software for Windows* version 6.0.66.0 you may want to check the release notes for further information.

5. Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features and Uninstall "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software", if it is installed. When prompted, choose the option to "Discard settings".
6. Also in Programs and Features, Uninstall Intel® WiDi Software.

7. In Control Panel, Device Manager, Network Adapters, right click on the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 and Uninstall it. Make sure you mark the option to "Delete the driver software for this device".

8. Reboot the PC or scan for hardware changes, check device manager and if an older driver is detected and installed, repeat the actions to uninstall and delete it as well. Repeat this process until the OS does not allow deleting the driver, or until the controller shows as Unknown Device.

9. Also in Device Manager, under Display adapters, Uninstall the Intel®HD Graphics, also selecting the option to "Delete the driver software for this device".

10. Reboot or scan for hardware changes, then uninstall and delete any older driver versions as you did for the Wireless adapter.

11. Install the Intel® Graphics driver downloaded before.

12. Install the Intel® Wireless driver. During the first steps of PROSet/Wireless installation, make sure to customize the installation and install all the 3 driver components as they improve WiDi functionality.

13. Install the Intel® WiDi/ Pro WiDi Software.

Yes I tried to connect to a Miracast receiver, it doesn't work either.

That's why I'm filing a complaint (asking for help).

Actually besides the Microsoft receiver, I've tried another certified WiDi receiver plus a Miracast receiver,

all of them ddin't connect so I've concluded it's the card's problem and came here.

These receivers are working fine with the non-AC7265 connection.

Hi Aleki,

1.) The folder you told me to open, doesn't exist;

C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\micl_tmp*.

This is actually a directory with a name that starts with micl_tmp. Please zip up the entire directory and send it.

2.) WiDi log attached:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwDrAjki3UFwME5QUnVoX1FKYW8 WiDiLog_CompatibilityTool.20160620.142901.wdl - Google Drive

3.) System support check log:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwDrAjki3UFwaXFWcDRNbmlvT2c system support check.xml - Google Drive

4.) Isn't it much easier for you guys to test the AC7265's WiDi capability than telling a non-expert user to provide this and that? It can be done in less than 5 minutes!

5.) So far the attitude is pretty negative, your team is not trying to look into the problems of your own device, instead you keep asking a user to do this and that as if it were me that is causing this problem. Just let me ask you, since day 1 I reported the issue, did your team spend even 1 minute to look into your own card by doing some really simple tests? I don't think you need me to provide logs if your team did.

6.) The compatibility tool is useless! I got all GREEN ticks and yet it doesn't work.

7.) I'm done, very disappointed. It's a very expensive WiFi card and it works worse than a card of 1/3 the cost.

Hi Aleki,

I've given you what you need, please give me what I (we) need - a workable driver.

Let me ask you the reverse way: How could it be not original? Do you honestly believe it could be a faked? ...

And I've told you, the Gigabyte Brix didn't come with a WiFi card, I installed it by myself.

Of course I know it's compatible, otherwise I wouldn't even consider buying it.

The problem now, is software, driver. We are NOT talking about hardware or certification thing here!

This question is really dxxx, I don't want to say that word.

https://www.amazon.com/Authentic-7265NGW-Wireless-AC-802-11ac-Bluetooth/dp/B00STV5UKW Amazon.com: Authentic 7265NGW Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11ac, Dual Band, 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0* - Ships …

The card is authentic, OK?

kenofstephen,

Aleki

1.) Intel® Wireless Adapters are not meant to be sold to end-users

Then why can I buy it? Your company should ban Amazon or newegg from selling that if it's true, otherwise your company should provide support because your company do not control the distribution good enough, it's not a fault of an end-user like me.

2.) The drivers we have provided you on post # 4 are the latest drivers available in our download center and should work regarding Intel® WiDi .

SHOULD work? Did you guys test it? Please at least share a screenshot that connection is successful?

3.) Engage Gibabyte

Come on, man, they sell a barebone for DIY, why an issue of your card has to go to them? Ask yourself the logic behind, please.

Aleki, this case has illustrated how bad Intel is willing to take responsibility and look into a problem. I've read many of the posts here, Intel is always trying to avoid responsibility and kicking the ball back to the OEMs, but sorry, not this time.

I've told you, the cheap Realtek adapter works perfectly fine on the same system.
