Soft AP on Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265

Hi all,

I need to use Soft AP but there is no any reaction on clicking on "Mobile Hotspot" button (screenshot 1).

In settings menu only error appears "We can't set up mobile hotspot" (ss 2).

In console after using command "netsh wlan show driver" I see "Hosted network supported : No".

I found some driver where "Hosted network supported" is ON and I see my new network on my phone (for example) but my wifi connection on PC often disconnected.

Where can I find correct driver for this device which will be included Soft AP and wifi (on PC) will not disconnected after 1-2 mins?

Please share with us the following information:

Is this the only issue related to the wireless card?
When did it start to happen?
Do you remember if this issue happened after a new OS update or Wireless driver update?
Is this a laptop or desktop system?
Is this a new computer?
What OS version are you using?
Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?
Were you able to have you wireless connection in a normal/expected performance before?
Have you installed any recent software or hardware in your system?
Which driver versions did you test?

Hi David,

I resolved this problem. I reinstalled Windows. After it I downloaded Connectify but at this moment Windows hotspot works fine and another programs are not needed.

2. I bought about 2 weeks ago and only now I tried to share network
3. I don't know because it is new desktop PC with clear installed win 10 and latest updates.

6. Windows 10 20H2
7. I installed drivers from TP-link website because my adapter is tplink. But I installed new drivers from your site but I don't know why I see previuls build in driver info (date 10.12.2020, ver. 19.51.33.1)
8. If I use latest drivers then wifi connection fine without disconnections but I can't to share it.
9. Maybe. I installed and tried many others drivers for adapter
10. Version 17.15.0.5 can to share but every time I get disconnected from wifi (on PC), at this moment installed 19.51.33.1 version.

Проверьте юзали ли вы windows tweaker и насколько вы убили систему. Пришлось перебивать винду, думаю из-за этого могли быть проблемы с раздачей вай фая. Сейчас всё нормально работает. Не знаю это случилось после установки connectify или после, но всё работает штатными средствами (не через консоль).
Я думал, что на новых драйверах вообще не поддерживается раздача вай фая и пробовал ставить старые дрова, там раздача включалась, то пк (который раздаёт) переставал ловить сети на этих дровах. Пришлось ставить новые, уже практически забил и тут такое счастье.
У меня адаптер tp-link archer t5e. Tp-link в тех. поддержке сказали, что это именно косяки драйвера, сам адаптер поддерживает раздачу, но этого нигде не написано, только в их внутренней документации (честно говоря, перед покупкой я где-то видел инфу, что можно, но найти сейчас не могу этот сайт)
Надеюсь кому-нибудь поможет эта информация.

Thank you for the information provided, however, I would like to confirm some information. Based on your previous post, looks like you were able to solve the problem by reinstalling Windows and I want to know if the issue persists.

Also, bear in mind that a wireless integration (install a wireless card in the motherboard) may present some unexpected issue since is not meant to be installed in a system. Usually, the wireless card is built in the motherboard or they provide one that is compatible with their system.
