I had a similar problem with limited wireless "connection", which would not be gone until Router reset (or at least WLAN reset).

But it suddenly worked and still works since I changed the channel bandwith for 802.11n 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz both from "Auto" to "20 MHz". That can be found in the advanced adapter settings.

Hello Community!

I recently bought a Lenovo T440s with an Intel Wireless-N 7260 Wireless and Bluetooth chip.

The device is amazing, everything went fluently. I updated all the drivers, the BIOS, my software and uninstalled the waste, like cloud saving services, games and so on. Everthing was perfect until i updated to Windows 8.1.

Since this update, the Wireless-N 7260 won't work properly any more. The internet is not available directly from the OS startup, I have to wait several minutes. My Bluetooth mouse has abrupt failures for several minutes, works then again, but only for 10 minutes approx.

I also tried every driver and ProSET-version from forum threads I read from people with similar problems. The last try was the actual version 16.7.0, but also with that version it won't work.

I am pretty desperate right now, because the notebook itself is one hot ass piece, and I love to work with Windows 8.1 also.

Please Intel, tell me what to do, or even better, release a driver that works!

Hello,

I too am suffering from similar problem. I have Intel dual band Wireless N7260 on my laptop.

It is also suffering from disconnects; I see Limited Connectivity under Windows 8.1. I have 16.6.x driver version installed.

Is 16.7.x applicable to "Intel dual band Wireless N7260" ? The driver download page for 16.7.x provides inconclusive information on whether it supports dual band N7260.

Intel Support staff please provide assistance.

The 16.7.x package will update your Proset version to 16.7 but the drivers will still be 16.6.0.8

Essentially, no improvement over 16.6 package except for the Proset software.

I am really sorry to know you still have connectivity issues.

The latest driver version for the Intel® 7260 adapter series is indeed 16.6.0; the supported adapter models for each version are listed at the bottom of the respective page.

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wtech/proset-ws/sb/CS-034041.htm Intel PROSet/Wireless Software; Intel PROSet/ Wireless Software Downloads

It is also important to check with the system manufacturer in case the nature of the issue is caused by a faulty integration of the wireless adapter itself, which may not be the cause in all scenarios but some users have reported it previously.

We continue to work on the reported issues as described here: /message/208369# 208369 https://communities.intel.com/message/208369# 208369

We appreciate your patience and understanding in the meantime.

Use the Bluetooth-chip with a mouse or sth, works perfectly as long as you WON'T use WIFI. Use WIFI and everything works perfectly UNLESS you use Bluetooth additionally.

I had similar issue with Thinkpad E440 using Intel Wireless N 7260 in Windows 8.1 64 bit. Sporadic disconnecting and limited connection almost every 10 secs. Have been tried with workaround in Microsoft Community and here, but the problem still persist.

Tried to clean install Windows 8 instead of 8.1, the problem exists every 5 mins. Already tried all drivers (from lenovo, intel, latest one 17.0) but still.

I haven't tried in Windows 7, in my opinion based on the community said, it will be worked in 7.

Is this related to Intel wireless hardware fault, Microsoft 8.1 issues, or Intel driver miscompatibility? Everyone had similar issue with cross branded laptop. Dell, Asus, Lenovo, HP which using this wireless card.

What can I do then?

I can also add ASUS Ultrabooks, I have the brand new 302 and it is hell, it is deconnecting every minute, with shared 3G of an iphone, it is like every 15 secondes, which makes the laptop totally unusable ...the only way to restore connection is disconnect/reconnect to hotspot. I tried with old b/g and N hotspots and it is exactly the same behavior

I upgraded with .17 drivers and it is still the same issue .... please fix that as soon as possible.

Add Sony Fit 13A to this list. I bought two of these computers two weeks ago and have had to reset my computer to get the adapter to find a wireless signal. It just stops randomly!

I am using Win 8.1. I am taking them back for another brand that does not use Intel for the Wireless.

Stay away from the N-7260. .

Regarding WiFi connection drops, please verify if you get events with the IDs 5007 and 5055in the Windows* Event Viewer (Control Panel, Administrative Tools) at the time the issue occurs. Kindly share the details from those events if available. Information such as AP brand and model, firmware version and authentication method is also valuable.

none of them are displayed. I have issues to connect to Apple Airport Extreme 4G either with 2,4 or 5MHz band, both of them disconnect every 5-30 minutes. When I stream stuff, it even stops earlier after a few minutes (1 to 3).

I even loose connection to the local network, so it is not related to Internet connection.

The same problem occurs with Apple iphone 5C ios 7.1 (11D167) in shared connection, it is working no more ... you can see a few packets exchanged and then the card freeze and loose connection. it makes it difficult to use the laptop in roaming mode with 3G or 4G!

So the wireless adapter disassociates from the AP. Do you notice any change in the status of the driver in Device Manager when the disconnection occurs?
