ArchLinux Intel AX200 probe failed with error -110

Hello all,

I have an issue on AX200 which is on board network card on ASROCK B550 Phantom Gaming-ITX.

The dmesg message show:

[ 4.885776] iwlwifi: probe of 0000:06:00.0 failed with error -110

And it does not appear in ifconfig.

Kernel version is 6.0.7.

I also try to use it on Windows, and it works normally.

If I restart my computer from Windows, it will work.

But if I shutdown and power on, it will get error -110.

For this scenario, it is important to mention that Arch Linux was not validated by Intel® as an officially supported Operating System for the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 (Gig+). So, all the drivers that we have available on our official website were tested and designed for Windows* as OS for this device:

Additionally, based on the information shown on the SSU document, the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 card is currently not being recognized by the system:

- Networking

Interface enp5s0:"Not Available"

It is always recommended to install the wireless driver provided by the manufacturer of the motherboard, since that driver was heavily customized by them to work with your specific platform.

I looked on ASRock website and all the drivers they have available are also tested and validated for Windows*:

Still, we will do further research on this matter in order to try to fix this problem or to point you in the right direction for support. As soon as I get any updates, I will post all the details on this thread.

Hello bismarckkk, I just received an update on this matter.

After reviewing the case we determined that this is likely a compatibility issue related to the AMD motherboard being used along with Linux as Operating System. The OS compatibility and limitation depend on the computer manufacturer's design.

According to dmesg log, the WLAN failed to be initialized properly:

iwlwifi 0000:06:00.0: CSR_RESET = 0x10.

So, in this case, you can always try the ASPM workaround, by disabling settings related to "PCIe Power Saving mode" or "PCIe ASPM" (Active State Power Management)' in the BIOS.

Thanks for your reply.

I have found BIOS manual, there is no settings to disable ASPM.

I also try to set "pcie_aspm=off" for grub. But it isn't work.

"lspci -vvv" always echo "LnkCtl: ASPM L1 Enabled"

Is there any other way to disable it?
