Hi Sstarlight, You are very welcome, thank you very much for sharing those details.

Perfect, it is great to know that you were able to successfully download the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite on your Evo™ computer.

In reference to the wifi analyzer, since it is a 3rd party tool, in order to gather further aspects about it, we recommend to get in contact directly with the developers of the application so they can provide additional information on the tool. We will proceed to close the case.

Any other inquiries, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Intel connectivity performance suite hidden wifi

Hi,

I need some help to clear my doubts for months. I moved to a new place and installed new router and extender mesh. Using dual bands wifi initial installation. I noticed whenever I on my internet there is a strong hidden wifi connected. When I shut down my internet disappeared.

I contacted my telco and the man cannot find any clue only helped me to set 2 separated bands wifi. A 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Howrever till today I still see the strong hidden wifi.

Thank to your intel connectivity performance suite that I installed after I purchased a new PC.. I can see clearly by individual lines the hidden wifi with mac addresses. The mac addresses are my 2.4ghtz and ghtz wifi.

I hide 2.4 because only using 5ghtz. I suspected someone hacked my PC. These mac addresses at times matched exactly the same as my mac wifi addresses but at time only 2 character/number difference. Once I on the internet, the hidden wifi with similar addresses appear before I connected to my PC at times. I have a total security and vpn.

I need clarification on the hiidden wfi interpretation, does it mean someone log into my internet. The mac address is physical device or really xxghtz wifi mac address. The disclosure is it danger to allow hackers..

I not sure by creating 2 separately bands wifi and show all to public cause danger so I the unuse. Recently I received phishing email saying that they follow me some times and I have gotten trojan virus through browing a web page they set. I also see a guest username which the telco man set for me online however I cannot locate where to delete the guest user and password. The guest appear a while and disappear once my connection successful.

Hope someone can interpret the hidden wfi in the performnce suite and any solution to all these. Kindly advise.

With great thanks!

Sstarlight, You are very welcome, thank you very much for providing that information and the pictures.

In reference to this scenario, and your request about getting more details about the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite, in the link below you will see the user guides of the application where you will find further details about the tool that might be helpful and useful for you:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091942/wireless/wireless-software.html

In regards to the strong hidden WiFi connections, it is important to mention, as you can verify in the following link which is for the released notes of the tool, that the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite works only with EVO platforms, it seems your laptop is not an EVO device, I will confirm that, so it is expected to see inconsistencies while using the tool with your specific machine. Also, it requires a driver version 22.200.0 or higher, the driver version currently installed in your computer is 22.190.0.4, which is provided by Lenovo and should be the proper driver for your device since it was heavily customized by them to work with your specific platform:

https://downloadmirror.intel.com/776040/ReleaseNotes_IntelConnectivityPerformanceSuite_21.23.2115.pdf

Even though the Intel® wireless drivers are generic, here you have the link for our latest wireless driver version 22.220.0.4, in case you want to test it and check if the behavior changes on your laptop:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/windows-10-and-windows-11-wi-fi-drivers-for-intel-wireless-adapters.html?wapkw=ax211

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/wireless.html

Still, we will do further research on this matter in order to try to confirm what might be the reason that those connections are showing, if they are expected, or if they represent a problem for your system. As soon as I get any updates, I will post all the details on this thread.

Regards,

Hi Albert,

Thank for download links and informative updates. I have updated intel wireless and updated connectivity. The result is zero network score in hidden network only can see type. However, I think this version suite don't reflect accurately. When someone log in as hidden user the connectivity should reflect. I can see the type in hidden change Should show only people physical log in as hidden identity.

Now compare to the hidden network under setting 'Network & Internet> WIFI', both inconsistent. The wifi when I log in shows strong signage. In fact match with the old connectivity version. Usually after I disconnect intenet, I still monitor. Both connectivity and under the setting wifi match. If the report reflect people physical log in in hidden network can improve the performance better.

Many thanks and have a good weekends.

Hi Sstarlight, You are very welcome, thank you very much for your response.

I actually just received an update on this matter.

After reviewing the case, it is important to mention that a hidden Wi-Fi network is a network that does not show the name at all. So, in this case, it is needed for you to know the name of the network, the type of wireless security, and if necessary, the mode, user name, and password. Most of these settings can be modified from the router so, based on that, we recommend to get in contact directly with the network administrator of whoever is broadcasting that network.

This scenario does not necessarily means this is a thread, this could be someone that has his/her own wireless signal but is hidden from people and available only to the ones that know the credentials, SSID, password, band, etc.

We can also confirm that the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite only works on specific Intel® Evo™ or Intel vPro® platforms with Intel® Wi-Fi 6/6E (or greater) products and in this case, your laptop is not an Intel® Evo™ or Intel vPro® platform so, the performance of the tool might not be that accurate and efficient as expected. You can also confirm this information by getting in contact directly with Lenovo Support:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en

Regards,

Albert R.

Intel Customer Support Technician

Hi Sstarlight, You are very welcome, thank you very much for sharing those details.

Perfect, it is great to know that you were able to successfully download the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite on your Evo™ computer.

In reference to the wifi analyzer, since it is a 3rd party tool, in order to gather further aspects about it, we recommend to get in contact directly with the developers of the application so they can provide additional information on the tool. We will proceed to close the case.

Any other inquiries, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,

Albert R.
