Just got assigned an Lenovo x13 gen 4.

Everything’s great, except for some reason, the wifi's getting throttled to ard 40mbps.

I can go beyond that using speedtest, but when synology, Google drive, office installer, adobe etc, are running, you can see spikes when a new software starts downloading, then it drops to 30mbps max alone (i.e. just google drive syncing) or combined (g drive and synology syncing, adobe downloading installs).

Haven’t tried ethernet because there’s no need for it so far in this job. All on Wi-Fi. Same on different networks, office, home and public. Speed is definitely not an issue because I've gone much faster on the same networks on both my personal and work laptops.

I've tried :

(from here<LI-EMOJI id="lia_disappointed-face" title=""></LI-EMOJI>
Press Windows Key + X.
Click on Command prompt (Admin).
Type the following commands, and hit Enter after each command:
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
netsh winsock reset and press Enter
netsh int ip reset and press Enter
ipconfig /release and press Enter
ipconfig /renew and press Enter
ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter

after that didn't work, I tried (from here<LI-EMOJI id="lia_disappointed-face" title=""></LI-EMOJI>
setting: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

Specs:
Thinkpad X13 Gen4
i7-1355U
32GB Ram
1TB SSD
Wifi 6E AX211 (Driver 22.240.0.6 18/6/2023)

I tried downloading the latest driver (Nov'23) from lenovo and intel's site, but after I run the executable, it says the best driver is already installed.

Any ideas?

shadowoflight, Thank you very much for providing that information and the SSU report.

Based on the information shown in the SSU document, we can confirm, as you mentioned, that the wireless driver version currently installed on your computer is 22.240.0.6.

For this scenario, it is important to mention that we always recommend to install the wireless driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was heavily customized by them to work with your specific platform.

I looked on Lenovo's website and the latest graphics driver version they have available is 22.250.1.2. Please try a clean installation of that driver following the instructions in the links below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/wireless.html

Driver:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ag/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x13-gen-4-type-21ex-21ey/downloads/ds566258-intel-wireless-lan-driver-for-windows-11-version-21h2-or-later-10-64-bit-version-1809-or-later-thinkpad?category=Networking%3A%20Wireless%20LAN

If the issue persists after that, then try a clean installation this time of Intel® wireless driver version 23.10.0.8:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/windows-10-and-windows-11-wi-fi-drivers-for-intel-wireless-adapters.html?wapkw=ax211

We also suggest to get in contact directly with Lenovo Support to make sure the latest BIOS version is currently installed in your machine or, if necessary, to gather the instructions on how to update it:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en

Once you get the chance, please let us know the results.

Regards,

Albert R.

Intel Customer Support Technician

Hello shadowoflight, I just received an update on this matter.

After reviewing the case, we would like to inform you, that we can confirm this is not an Intel® driver issue. Based on that, we recommend to get in contact directly with Lenovo Support so they can perform a physical inspection of the device for antenna or other component issues:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en

Regards,

Albert R.

Intel Customer Support Technician
