Major Bug with Intel Bluetooth 23.70.3 package release

Hello,

I'd like to report a MAJOR BUG with the recent release of Intel Bluetooth Drivers 23.70.3 for Windows 10 and 11.

On my laptop (HP ENVY 16h-0020ca) which is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, when this specific Bluetooth software release is installed - it causes the existing audio drivers to be uninstalled. The change is immediate and a glance in the Device Manager confirms this as all instances to any audio object are greyed-out (indicating that they have been removed).

Also, reinstalling the audio driver (either the original package from HP or an updated version from Realtek) does NOT restore the audio drivers. Further, any System Restore points also cannot be used to revert back to a previous functioning state. The only solution is to do a complete Image Restore (in my case using AOMEI Backupper) and then avoid reinstalling this Bluetooth Driver release 23.70.3 altogether.

It should be noted that this problem extends only to this specific version of the Intel Bluetooth software. Any versions prior to release 23.70.3 function just fine.

Please test and resolve this issue at the earliest, since it results in a major inconvenience for users. I can provide additional information for troubleshooting if required.

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

To further investigate, please help share and confirm the following information:

1. If possible, share a screen recording demonstrating how to reproduce the issue so we can better understand it.

2. Have you contacted HP regarding this matter?

3. What is the main reason why you were updating the Bluetooth driver?

4. Please try using our Bluetooth driver version 23.100.1 and check if there are any changes.

5. Please share your system's SSU logs so we can fully review the system specifications and identify the exact wireless card model installed in the computer. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

Scan: Check the box Everything.
Click Scan.
Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
Click Save (.txt). *Attach the log file as you reply.

Thank you for your message. I am sorry for not replying back on time.

This issue has been resolved for me. It was definitely a major bug with that specific release of the Intel Bluetooth Wireless software package (version 23.70.3). However, I have since migrated to a higher software version and the issue no longer persists in any of the following software packages.

I would probably recommend that Intel test and validate my claim (if possible), and if deemed buggy, remove the offending software package (version 23.70.3) from its official list of available downloads for Intel Bluetooth products.
