My windows 11 desktop did not come with wi-fi so I installed the Intel 6E AX210 160 MHz along with the Intel BT 32.130.0 driver package. The wi-fi has always worked perfect but the bluetooth was never there from day one. It shows up under windows 11 Apps and Features as: Intel wireless bluetooth (R). However, there is no bluetooth showing in the Device Manager or under system devices. I ran the Intel SSU64 utility and the Intel wi-fi 6E AX210 shows up but nothing about bluetooth. I ran the microsoft troubleshooter for bluetooth and it says "unable to detect a Bluetooth radio on your device". Bluetooth audio gateway service and bluetooth support service are both running under "Services". I reinstalled the wi-fi drivers (BT 32.130.0) and still no bluetooth.

Should I reinstall the wi-fi card? What else can I try?

Thanks in advance.

Michael,

Thanx for the reply. I manually installed the wi-fi unit about one year ago and don't remember why I chose this model. I have a Dell desktop SFF 7010 with motherboard # 0VXN07. The wi-fi part has always worked great but never the bluetooth. Maybe I did not install the unit correctly or maybe I left out a step?

I have found the problem. The wi-fi unit I installed requires a USB header cable to run from the wi-fi card to an available header socket on the motherboard. This supplies the DC power to run the Bluetooth. My Dell optiplex 7010 SFF does not have an available header socket. Too bad.

Let's make sure that this is stated correctly. It has nothing to do with power. Bluetooth is accessed via a USB interface. The card carrier, plugged into a standard PCIe connector, does not have access to a USB interface. Thus the need for the cable going from the card carrier to a motherboard USB header.

In your case, I see that your motherboard has only a single USB 2.0 header. Now, this header provides two USB 2.0 ports. Are both of these ports being used currently? All the card carrier needs is access to a single USB 2.0 port. If whatever is plugged into this port is only using a single port, you can combine the two with a little connector finagling. Alternatively, you can purchase or build a cable with a USB-A connector and being the cable out of the chassis and plug it into one of the external USB 2.0 connectors.

Hope this helps,

...S

Thank you for the assistance.

Hello jcg0324,

Thank you for the update.

Upon checking, you mentioned that you identified the problem, so let me ask the following questions to determine if the "USB header" is the cause:

Is the Intel 6E AX210 a USB-type WiFi card that can be directly plugged into the computer's USB port? If so, what is the exact brand and model of the USB or card?

If it is not a USB type, are you using M.2 2230 slot on the computer for installation? For reference, please see page 61, which details where the WiFi card should be installed.

You may also check our article on "Bluetooth* Adapter Not In Device Manager" for additional troubleshooting of the issue.
