topic Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz Cannot Detect Available Networks in Wireless

My ASUS ROG STRIX (G713QR) has the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz installed, and it is behaving very oddly. It can detect only ONE network through the Intel adapter, even though there are four networks available.

Testing:

I have an old Dell laptop that I started up after years of sitting on a shelf. It immediately detected all 4 networks. My iPhone and Samsung A9 tablet detect all 4 networks.

I have been researching this problem for about two months.

I have implemented every suggestion I have found, but with no success in achieving the desired outcome.

Things tried:

I have disabled Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz, deleted it, and the driver. Updated the driver. Restarted the ASUS laptop. I have rebooted over 15 times after following various pieces of guidance.

I have typed the identities of the other known networks into "Settings/Network & Internet/Wi-Fi/Manage Known Networks."

Turn network off:

To see what happens after re-installing driver, etc. I turned the LAN that the Intel seems to like to find "OFF", then booted the ASUS. The name of that network still shows up even though a fresh reset has been done, and the LAN is physically OFF.

After each iteration of resets, driver installs and reboots, the ASUS still detects only one network.

When I travel to a relative's home or to other cities and stay at a hotel, the ASUS cannot detect the LAN at those places!

This circumstance means that my ASUS is USELESS outside my home.

I must have the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz able to detect LANs other than the one in my home.

Thank you so much for your help

Hello RonB1946,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

For me to assist you effectively, please share the information below.

1. Were you able to connect to these other networks previously using the ASUS ROG STRIX (G713QR)?

2. When did it start to happen?

3. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

4. Are there any warning symbols on the Device Manager > Network Adapters.

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,

Jed G.

Intel Customer Support Technician
