I have exactly the same issue. No matter what i do when i try to reinstall 23 130 1 it is a repair so the app was not completely removed. i deleted the driver, deleted all oemXX.inf drivers, reset the network stack: netsh int ip reset, netsh winsock reset, and ipconfig /flushdns. rebooted the laptop and attempted to install the ax201 driver.

the result is that i have a software issue with the driver and after rebooting the laptop or resetting the router the download speed is fine at >600Mb/s but over a few hours the speed drops to 60.

i guess that i will wait until Intel releases a repaired install program.

unless someone can give me advice on how to repair the wifi.

Hello,
I am unable to perform a clean installation of the wireless driver.

I followed the steps on this site:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/wireless.html

I completely uninstalled both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers and confirmed that the driver provider had changed from Intel to Microsoft.
After restarting the PC, I launched the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth driver installer.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/130293/intel-wifi-6-ax201-gig/downloads.html

However, instead of starting a fresh installation, the installer launched a repair screen.
I believe this indicates that the driver was not completely removed.

Could this be a bug in the installer? I have performed clean installations of wireless drivers many times before, but this is the first time I have encountered such an issue.

Are there others experiencing the same problem?

i should mention why i am convinced that the problem is the software for the driver, which is why i am desperate to uninstall and install a stable program.

the speed as it always dropped to 60 Mb/s so i looked at the WIFI link speed:

command prompt: netsh wlan show interface, both receive and transmit rates were 1202 Mb/s. I think that implies that the ax201 does not have a hardware issue.

i made some changes to the ax201 driver, i changed from dual band to the first option of 5G, since that is the only signal that i receive.

i ensured that U APSD was disabled

it was suggested to me that power control issues could be a cause of problem (independent of not being able to do a clean uninstall) so I set MIMO power save to NO SMPS.

On another topic, Luna Wave's first link regarding uninstalling the ax201 driver confuses me.

INTEL says to do this:

Go to Device Manager.

Expand the Network Adapters category.

Right-click your Intel Wireless Adapter and choose to uninstall it.

Make sure to the option to Delete the driver software for this device is selected.

Repeat steps A through D until the the option to Delete the driver software for this device is greyed out.

after step d the network driver is deleted and no longer exists in the list so how can you repeat a thru d?

i hope INTEL reads this and fixes the driver and the doc.

Hello,

Yes, there is an issue with the procedure introduced by Intel.

If my understanding is correct, there are two possible methods:

Check the Device Manager again after restarting the PC.

Click on “Scan for hardware changes” in Device Manager > Action (this is a simpler method—I chose this one).

After that, you need to continue uninstalling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth until the checkboxes disappear, and confirm that the driver provider has changed from Intel to Microsoft. Then, restart the PC and install the drivers.

Multiple sources, including Intel, recommend installing the drivers in the order of Wi-Fi first, then Bluetooth (although the reason is unclear).

Sorry, there was a misunderstanding in my previous reply.

Multiple sources, including Intel, recommend installing the drivers in the order of Wi-Fi first, then Bluetooth (although the reason is unclear).

Intel actually recommends installing the Bluetooth driver first.
Link:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000088874/wireless/intel-wireless-ac-products.html

On the other hand, MSI (Japanese version) recommends installing the Wi-Fi driver first.
Link:
https://jp.msi.com/support/technical_details/wifi

To be honest, I'm not sure which one is correct.

I tried a clean installation of the ver. 140 series, but it seems that this installer.exe is suggesting a repair installation rather than a fresh one.
While the clean installation itself appears to proceed normally, I'm curious whether it's merely displaying "Repair" while still performing a proper clean install, or if the "Repair" option is actually preventing a true clean installation.

Is Intel aware of this issue?
